Keeping Pets Calm and Cozy Through the Holidays

The holidays bring noise, visitors, and disruptions to routine — all of which can unsettle a pet. A little preparation keeps them calm and cozy while the house stays busy.

Create a quiet retreat

Set up a calm space away from the front door and dining area — a crate, a corner with a bed, or a spare room. Let it be their safe zone, and teach guests not to disturb them there.

Keep the routine steady

Feeding, walks, and bedtime should stay on schedule even when your day does not. Predictability is what anxious pets lean on most during chaos.

Watch the decorations

Candles, wires, and tinsel are tempting and dangerous. Keep them out of reach, and choose pet-safe plants over mistletoe and poinsettia.

Layer on the warmth

Older pets feel the cold first. A soft blanket, a raised bed off the floor, and a sweater for short outdoor trips make winter gatherings gentler on them.

At MIKIM PET we believe the cozy season should include the whole family — including the four-legged members who just want a warm, quiet place to belong.
